Smokey robinson was one of the most popular and well-known singers of his time. He was known for his unique style of singing and for each concert, he always made sure to leave the fans with one of his favorite memories.
Smokey Robinson was a grammy-winning american singer, songwriter, and actor who was born in chicago, illinois, to parents who were irish catholic background. Smokey was originally guitarist and backing band member for his father's band, the rascals, which helped him develop his vocal skills. After being drafted into the united states air force, smokeypayer served his country until he was finally drafted back into the united states navy, where he was stationed in stilling of his vocal ability. Smokey was eventually able to get his degree in music from university of michigan and moved to london, england to start a new career as a music artist. He took to the stage in one of the most influential singer-songwriters gravesong performances I have ever seen. The crowd was on its feet with smokeyrobinson's song 'thectrlpop goes to town' firmly in hand. The lyrics were powerful and the singing was strong, but the performance was something else. Smokey robinson was able to take on the role of the singer with rod and rebels (the band) went all out. I couldn't help but wonder what it would have been like if Smokey Robinson wasn't such a popular figure today.
